Wipro Infotech Fresher Job Interview Placement Paper Pattern (Aptitude, Essay, Technical & Interview) 2010

No. of rounds: 4
1: Aptitude test
2: Essay writing
3: Technical Interview
4: HR interview

The above pattern is the latest followed by Wipro Recruitement Team.The Aptitute Test is conducted online on the computer so there are very less chances of any error creeping in. The test was conducted in 4 slots with around 70 students in one slot. The interface was clean and smooth with excellent work from the coordinators in carrying out the test.

1: Aptitude test: It had 3 sections namely verbal ability, quantitative apti, technical knowledge.
Verbal: 15 Questions
Quantitative: 15 Question
Technical: 20 Questions
Test Duration: 60min

Verbal had simple english ques, passage based ques, synonyms, antonyms, phrases, fill in the blanks etc.Completed this section in around 15 minutes since the questions were very very simple.  Quantitative had questions from time speed distance, logical thinking, blood relationship etc.Can't remember more....However this section was also easy and completed it in around 15-20 minutes. Just brush up your concepts and general formulae and you will be fine with it.

Technical was the toughest section with questions on c, c++ , java, Operating System, and unix / linux ques.Some questions from Unix were way over the top but the trick is to clear the cutoff which lies around 10-12 marks in technical.You can easily score that much if you can do c, c++, java and maybe OS.

2: Essay writing:
Duration: 10min
They consider only text written on front side of the A4 paper.This seems to be a mere formality to check your arrangement of ideas and there representation.My topic was "College Politics"

3: Technical Interview: The technical interview went for around 20-25 minutes with questions ranging from your project, training informaion, your favourite subject. The question were majorly easy and simple to answer instead of the difficult progrmas and in depth question that are asked in some of the interviews

The question that they asked apart from technical ones were- are you ready to relocate anywhere in India.Can you fill the bond that we were asked to fill once we get placed in Wipro.What are your career aspirations. Show them your confidence....

4: HR INTERVIEW: The final stage of wipro placement drive. My interview began at 11:15pm. Although i was sleeping at that time but try to maintain your energy...keep a smile on your face :)

My interview was taken by the Head who came with her team from bangalore.She was nice and friendly.She asked me to tell something about myself which is not in my CV.Then she asked me the most challenging thing i had ever done in my life followed by why should we hire you?
At the end she asked me if i had any questions.

Just be yourself, be confident, CONFIDENCE is the key...Dont forget to remember the almighty and on your day nobody can stop you from achieving your aspirations.. All the best for your placement...... :)

What advice would you give fresh graduates?
We advice potential employees to focus on two critical aspects. One is fundamentals. More than the domain of study, an analytical bent of mind is critical to solving customer problems and thriving in a long term career.
The second critical aspect that we see as a major challenge is communication skills. Candidate need to invest in improving their communication abilities, and this is gaining prominence with market becoming more and more competitive and global.
And my interview advice to students would be -- just be cool!
Education: Diploma/ graduates (BSc/ BCom) / postgraduates (MSc/MCom) from full-time courses only can apply.
Qualifying percentage: Graduates from any stream with 50 per cent in class 10, 12 and 60 per cent in graduation and postgraduation.
Placement test/ Interview date: Throughout the year, on predetermined  dates and venues at different campuses.
The selection process involves an aptitude test, PC skills test, HR round and a spoken English test. The duration of the test is 60 minutes and questions in the verbal and analytical sections are along the lines of the CAT and GMAT entrance examinations.
Upon joining, candidates are trained and absorbed in any of the business units at Wipro, which could include industry verticals, service lines, performing the role of software development, testing and remote infrastructure management, among others.
On campus recruitments
Education: Final year BTech
Qualifying percentage: 50 per cent in class 10, 10+2 and 60 per cent in college

Recruitment process
Recruitment of final year engineering students takes place on campus through a screening test called the Wipro Entrance Test. Wipro conducts placement tests in nearly 100 engineering colleges each year. These colleges are evaluated by Wipro Accreditation Process which evaluates colleges on several parameters, chief among them are student performance, faculty profile, placement history and learning infrastructure.
Wipro representatives visit these identified accredited campuses at a mutually convenient date and time to conduct pre-placement presentation. This takes place a month or two before the main test. In pre-placement, students are given an overview of the company, its several businesses, career opportunities and a low-down on eligibility and selection process.
Final year BTech students with 50 per cent aggregate marks in class 10, 10+2 and 60 per cent in graduation are eligible for the test. Wipro considers graduates from all specialisations.
Test and interview
The placements tests are devised by the company itself and these are conducted in the months of December, January
and February. The placement test comprises two parts: written test and personal interviews. Usually, both take place on the same day, but when the number of applicants is higher, interviews are taken the following day.
Written test
The total duration of the written test is 60 minutes. The written test is divided into three sections namely, verbal, analytical and technical. The test is conducted online; only when a college does not have the infrastructure to support an online test that a pen-paper test is taken.
GRE or GMAT test papers are helpful in preparing for test. Within hours of the test, results are declared. Shortlisted candidates then proceed for the interview which takes place in two rounds: technical and human resource or personal.
Technical round
In the technical round, the candidate is assessed for his/her subject knowledge and abilities. The personal interview, which takes place with the HR team, assesses the candidate on HR competencies and Wipro values such as integrity and honesty. Often the final results are announced on the very same day, or the following day.
Salary and bond
On joining day, selected candidates are asked to sign a bond. The duration of the bond is 18 months and signing it means that for that period the candidate cannot apply elsewhere. "The purpose behind signing the bond is that we want our potential employers to grow with us," says Bahirwani.
The pay package is at par with industry standards. According to industry estimates, starting pay package is between Rs 3-4 lakh/annum
Off-campus recruitments
Education: BSc/ BTech
Qualifying percentage: As specified in the advertisement
Placement test/Interview date: As specified
Wipro also conducts off-campus hiring, which is not institution-specific and is open for students across institutions. Off-campus recruitments are done for the here-and-now kind of needs of the organisation, which are advertised on its website and yes, candidates do have to appear for the placement test.

WIPRO PATTERN & INTERVIEW PAPER - 2007

Package:
2.75 - 3.25 lakhs p.a. for BE/BTech/MCA.
3 - 3.50 lakhs for ME.
Now the thing is there is a 3 months training, then, after a test it will be decided what slot you land up in.

Bonds:
The company will sign a bond of Rs 75000 for commiting a period of 15 months and after that the money will be returned but without the interest applicable on the amount. Finally those who are having trouble arranging the money Wipro has a tie up with SBI that a minimum amount of 5000 is to be paid and rest SBI will pay and ofcourse the installments will be deducted from salary.

Experience:
The PPT (Pre Placement Talks) started at about 9:30 and the team was of about 12 - 15 persons working with Wipro for more than 3 years. Commonly they were for 7-8 years working with Wipro. So it felt good to meet people who have worked for a long time with the company.

If all goes well you will find some part of the ppt as really interesting as ("You pass, We Pay", wisdom schools, their tie up with the reputed higher education institutes. It will get long to explain all this. I found that of the 3 companies only Wipro supports and encourages its employees to undergo certificate cources (java, MCSE, redhat linux, etc) and do MBA or MS or whatever they feel like Wipro will sponser if you pass.

Written test: Though i cleared the written of TCS and Infosys i found the paper of Wipro to be tough.
Not scaring you all
English (15 Questions)
1. Antonyms and synonyms
2. Jumbled (rel easy but if you try it with options)
3. Error finding, speech (active, passive), etc

Overall English was fine but as i haven't read any book about English it was difficult for me to get some words correct. There is no negative marking so it became easy to take chances. Majority part was 'b' and only a few as 'a'

Aptitude (15 Questions)
damn easy but extreme time taking. some required logic and direct answer without solving even
1.trains(distance, speed, etc) find the clock time of approach
2.sorry don't remember much but overall it was fine.

Technical (20 question)
If you remember the concepts and syntax i don't feel it will be a problem. But still fear the worse and try hard on syntax and cram the complexities data of all sorting algos.

2. complexity
3. trees as definition
4. error etection in code
well alot more but were fine. but don't just jump out of your bed and reach there. do all possible things you can do.

Finally you clear the test. Be sure if there is any negative marking. It was not in our case atleast. Hope the same for you.

Interview Technical
It all depends on luck that what panel you get, for me it was so cool person I was feeling like talking to my senior.

WORD OF CAUTION
A suggestion from my friend really worked good that reduce the size of cv to 1page. mine was 1.5 page.
1. remove all details you are not confident of and if you have to mention them then add it to "Areas of interest" so that you can say you have an interest in the subject but as you did it as part of curriculum.
2. Add some extra curricular activities if you haven't done any. As was my case.
I'm a computer
freak and i did everything in computers.

Questions were based on the projects alot. Just explain properly about each detain about the projects you have done. then even if you don't know any answer coolly say "sorry....! I don't know or i don't remember the answer"
If your communication skills are good you will surely get through technical if luck favours you.
Overall tech was fine and it went about 25 mins in mine and in others people were sent back with the HR form in just 5 mins.

HR Interview
The HR round was alot interesting:
1. tell about family and background
2. do SWOT analysis of yourself (strength, weakness, opportunities, threats)
3. you have any problem signing the bond?
4. What is job satisfaction
I hope these are the common questions as i knew that from many she asked the same question. Finally result came at 11PM after a wait of some 9 - 10 hours and I got selected in Wipro.

The round  was started  at 2:10 pm but I  waited for  6 ½ hour  after 9 O’clock they ask me to attend for Hr Interview.
HR: tell me your favourate topic (subjects)
I : I replaid as c++ (OOPS)
HR: So tell me about OOPS
I : I replaid the main features of Encapsulation ,Inheritence, Polymaophisms  and Genricity and I Stopped.
HR; u have to say at least  5 Minits
I: Then I show my real face in OOPS non stoply. About detail explanation on function overloading ,object, class ,and also templates in detail at lest 6 minit and I stopped.
HR;U must be identify the situation of the other person he is ready to understand the data or not so u have to give some time in between the communication with others that wha u have to imrove.
I:  I replaid ok sir
HR; He asked me to tell about Team work.
I: I explained it with my own idea.
HR: He asked me is there any nead of team work.
I: must and should sir otherwise there may be a problem while doing the projects.
HR: He replaid ok. And

Technical Interview :
I gave him  the form whichis given by the HR inter viewer and my resume he identified my name and asked the spelling of my Surname which I didn’t write clearly and he replaid u must be write clearly ok. Ok u are MCA student. What is  the group in your Degree I replaid BSC Computer Science. When I am giving the details he write some thing which is like a secrete.

WIPRO Campus Paper June 2008 - Sathyabama University Chennai

WRITTEN TEST VERBAL -20 Ques
First ques one paragraph was given.4 or 5 ques were based on it. Next was converting direct to indirect and vice versa. 3 analogies 2 phrases and some few ques which I don?t remember This section was simple,read the ques fast otherwise u ll nt hv time to do other ques. For preparations,go through R.S.Agarwal?s Verbal and Non verbal book(only verbal section for getting an idea).No need of go through GRE Barrons. U can manage this section easily.

APTITUDE-20 Ques One
sum based on finding the no.(the ques was like find the 5 digit no where 3rd no less than last no,2nd no less than last no by 2?..n some more details ) One ques on time and distance(using the formula 2xy/x+y) One ques on boats and streams. 3 ques paragraphs based,3 diff paras,the ques was to find wat the para is abt. 2 ques on coding and decoding. One ques was like 28 black socks n 28 white socks are there in a drawer,find the least no to times to get a pair matched socks. One ques on number series. 2 ques on coding and decoding. 2 Ques based on conditions. One ques on time n distance(the ques was like boy,girl n dog are walking at ? km,after sometime they ride in a bicycle including dog,boy and girl walk at speed,find the speed of all the 3) Another ques on numbers(1st no. was 1/3rd the third,2nd no. is twice the 1st,ans.369) Last ques on trains(a train crosses a railway platform,what must be considered ans.length of the train and lengh of platform) This section was easy but ques were big.I took lot of time reading and doing this section,PLz don?t do that,try to finish fast. For preparations refer R.S.Agarwal?s Quantitative Aptitude n Verbal book.See all the topics in Quantz bk,Try to cover examples n have a clear understanding abt the concepts.Prev papers were not useful.

TECHNICAL-10 Ques
Unfortunately I didn?t hv time to read all ques n I marked a or c last minute. The ques I read was iphone was first manufactured by ans.APPLE.then one ques on array,one ques on binary conversion and another on Which of these is nt social networking sites. I prepared only from prev ques papers,for non-it branches,cut off ll be less so don?t worry abt this section. 1163 students appeared for apti,only 512 students cleared it. TECHNICAL INTERVIEW Many students were rejected in the tech interview.I was lucky that I was asked only from my Area of interest.

Satyam - Paper Pattern (Written & G.D.)

(1)Written Test:-

As all of u know SATYAM s pattern consists of 15 ques where u will be scoring 1 mark for correct answer and 25% deduction for every wrong answer.

Note:- I wud like to say u that attempt only the ques u know pretty well. PLZ make sure that guessing or answering all the ques u may be disqualified. B4 going to take the test make sure u r thorow with all the previous papers bcoz then u can get 4 to 5 repeted. Also attending 6 to 7 ques is more than enough.

(2)Group Discussion:-

This is what all call as the toughest part of SATYAM s recruitment process. But never feel so bcoz if u can contribute some 2 to 3 points its enough.
Note:- For to be sucessful in GD u shud follow certain rules such as

1.Body posture.

2.Eye contact

3.Never and ever look at the observer this will make a negative impact abt u in the observers mind.

4.Stick to the way u started the topic and go only in 1 way. Never talk on both sides of the topic.

5.Never question any in person r never say like u r wrong and never talk to in person talk to the whole group.

6.Initialisation is a plus point but it doent mean that if u initialise u will be selected. Make the topic 4rm u if u r well versed r talk at no 3 r 4 positions. There is no
difference in any of the positions actually.

7.Dont over act by saying too many time like lets give us a chance to our frnds.

8.Its always better to be frank like if u r not well versed with the topic u can start as --- well frnds i am not that knowledgeble at this present topic but from our discussion i understand that --------. Its just ur wish r u can make on ur own.

I started ay no 5 position and the topic given to our group was Impact of films on youth. One person took the initialisation but he was not able to make the sentence complete and from there started the topic diversion and every thing went wrong and at last i thot that if our discussion goes in such a way then there is a chance that the whole group can be disqualified so that i dragged the discussion on the topic.

(3)INTERVIEW:-

In SATYAM both the tech & HR interview are combined so that if u r good at HR ques then u can get into. The HR asked me the 1st ques that How is our recruitment process n i thot the he asked how r u n i said 5n thank u sir. Then he was surprised by the answer i left. He stressed its 2 hard day na? Then i understood and 4rm then onwards it was just a formal interview both the HR s were very cool it was just like talking with my frnds n i didnt felt as i was in the Final round. There only they asked r u ready to make a bond n i said if u ask for 3 years also i am ready. They will ask finally r u having any ques Never say that u r not having any. Bcoz this will make u a very bad impression on u.
